Renae's Magical Wellington Boots

Step 1
Once I am given the authors story and character details, I begin to work on a sketch to create the look of Rosie's character.
Step 2
Additional characters, sketches will be added too. Along with all details of that character taken in to consideration.
Step 3
I then draw a simple colour test. This shows variations of the same character, wearing different coloured clothing aswell as accesories like boots and a headband. Guess which one made it through to the final?
Step 4
Another colour test of all the main characters are added. This stage shows the main characters, drawn and coloured, wearing their clothes and showning height comparisons between each one. Rosie is finally given a new name of "Renae".
Step 5
Once all of my characters are complete I then include them to the scenes of the book. Here, Renae and Alex discover the Magic Boots inside the haunted house.
Step 6
All colour and environments are added to specific scenes within the book. Renae and Alex are seen leaving the Magical Playground as it becomes overshadowed.
Step 7
The last steps are made just before the images are sent off for print and compiled with the book text. Here I will check that all the scenes are delivered on time and to the authors specifications.
Step 8
Renae's Magical Wellington boots, final front cover with main character and bold coloured text design. Credits are placed at the base with a blurb and barcode on the back cover.
The Book
